David O Shaughnessy: A.J. Holmes, Robin Hood Gardens  

When David asked me to do this shoot at Robin Hood Gardens, after he’d heard about my project concerning the estate, I must admit I was a bit trepidatious, fearing it may turn into a ‘portrait of the musician’ series. Especially as I had deliberately kept myself out the of shot when photographing the site; all but one gratuitous selfie. However my reservations were dispelled when I saw the photos on David's camera. He has skilfully capture a pivotal moment in the estate's history, unbeknownst to us, the long scheduled demolition actually started - after years of controversy and campaigning to save the site - just weeks after this shoot. These photos also capture the last time I was to visit the site before demolition begun
